Founded in 1996 by Cole Davis, Keystone RV is a relative newcomer to the industry that made a name for itself very quickly. Cole’s original goal in starting Keystone was to produce budget-priced RVs with premium features, which he sought to accomplish by maintaining a low overhead and following a bottom-up sort of idea flow. The very first Keystone RV was the wood frame sprinter, which paved the way for an explosion of new models, including travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers, and Keystone was an industry sales leader by the year 2000.
In 2001, Keystone was acquired by industry giant Thor, joining other well-known brands like Airstream, Dutchmen and Komfort, in what has become the largest manufacturer of recreational vehicles in the world.
