er moMonaco Coach operated as a unique business entity from its founding in 1968 untilĀ it filed for bankruptcy in 2009, when the company’s assets were liquidated and sold to Navistar. Since then, Monaco has been operated as a division of Navistar and then later as a division of Allied Specialty Vehicles. The company was also owned by both Chrysler and Harley Davidson throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
Although the original Monaco Coach Corporation business entity ceased to exist in 2009, Navistar, and later Allied Specialty Vehicles, have continued to produce the same high quality, luxury motorhomes and towables in the same factories that Navistar acquired in the bankruptcy proceedings.
Monaco has been primarily known for its high end diesel pusher motorhomes, but it has also produced a variety of towables throughout the years.
